I saw a commercial the other day advertising tomorrow's art-inspired careers; they asked who tomorrow's graphic designers/advertisers would be. I answered, "Me."
Whenever I see really cool posters or pictures throughout the day, I start wondering how the person created them. I end up thinking to myself, "I could be doing this one day."
When I realized my latest Web Design assignment would revolve around Photoshop, I was really eager to complete the project. I finished it in about an hour, as opposed to a whole week of procrastinating on every other project in that class.
When I was Facebook stalking one day, I came across some guy who is majoring in graphic design at the Art Institute of New York. I thought to myself, "MAN, F U :(" (not like I was mad or anything, but I tend to spit out curses when I'm by myself.....)
Whenever I get e-mails about art colleges, I go "AHHSLHGLSLGLSFJSALASGS" and start wondering why I didn't apply to those schools.
..That's when my non-existent art portfolio slaps me in the face.
"an art major with no portfolio. lolwat." -the words of a friend
Sometimes I wonder if I did the right thing by deciding on a Computer Science major. It was my back-up choice if I failed to go down an art path -- which I did. I don't even have a portfolio to present, and I'd rather not half-ass one when other people (my would-be competition) have had so long to complete theirs. I guess having an "undeclared major" or going to community college wouldn't have been such a bad thing, huh?
